Orientation Done!

Students have now completed two weeks of being pumped full of information on how to live in this foreign culture at the PW house, our neighborhood, the city of Quito, and the jungle. We went over goals and objectives, requirements, and a biblical look at discipleship. We walked through meal planning, food purchasing, household chores and cooking (as they will now be serving as well as rotating in as leaders in each of these). There was also a class on basic first aid – with very “interesting” demonstrations.

This week shifts into the normal activity of PW. The week-day schedule will look like this:
7 – 9am Quiet time/breakfast
9:00 Community Prayer
9:30 Discipleship Themes
10:15 Academic Classes (currently “Perspectives on the World Christian Movement” and “Inductive Bible Study”
11:15 Spanish
12:00 Lunch

Afternoons are spent studying and being invovled in ministry. Evenings and weekends are taken up with the activities around us as well as a monthly weekend stay in the jungle.

Everyone is adjusting wonderfully and there is already a sense of “team” and “unity.”
