BOOT CAMP day seven

by David Epin (Ecuadorian team member – translated from Spanish)
I have realized on this trip to the jungle that it is not necessary for everyone to speak in the same language, nor to have the same customs, if they have the same objective to reach out – and even more – if God is the one leading everything.
It has amazed me to know that God is so wonderful that He remembers and cares about everyone.  It is incredible to see these places that are considered as nothing to most people, and yet God loves the people here and wants them to know Him.

Today I got to work a bit by cleaning out a hole that we dug that was full of water : )  After lunch I helped with the children’s outreach.  The children of this community have a lot of responsibilities to take care of at such a young age.  The children that attended are more than ready to play games and just be kids.  I believe that they are also learning little by little all about being children of God.
I pray that as these families receive the bibles and gospel story cds in their own language that we are giving them, that they will grow in the knowledge of God’s love for them and become men and women that will lead their families to Christ in the future.
“But when Jesus saw this, He was indignant and said to them, ‘Permit the children to come to Me; do not hinder them; for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it at all.’ And He took them in His arms and began blessing them, laying His hands on them.  (Mark 10:14-16)

NOTE: Sorry…no pictures made it out today.  Hopefully there will be more tomorrow!
